A Bible study from me related to why I see God as jealous of His people (both those of Jewish heritage and those children of Abraham through faith).

Then Moses climbed up the mountain, and the cloud covered it. And the glory of the LORD settled down on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it for six days. On the seventh day the LORD called to Moses from inside the cloud. To the Israelites at the foot of the mountain, the glory of the LORD appeared at the summit like a consuming fire. - Exodus 24:15-17 NLT

The Principle: Standing in the Gap

“I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one.”
Ezekiel 22:30 NLT

God does not need anything from humans.  He doesn’t need help with things, He doesn’t need praise from us; He doesn’t need our money in the offering plate.

He allows us to join Him as He brings about His plan.

The sons of Korah (also descendants of Kohath) were descendants of a Levite who rebelled against Moses – Numbers 16.

This group of Levites were given the ministry of

… lead[ing] the music at the house of the LORD after the Ark was placed there. They ministered with music at the Tabernacle until Solomon built the Temple of the LORD in Jerusalem. They carried out their work, following all the regulations handed down to them.
1 Chronicles 6:31-32 NLT
